Deputy Managing Director Hong Zhao With the rapid development of a telecommunication revolution driven by technical innovations in China, Guangdong Nortel has experienced continuous growth of nearly 12 years. In this course, it has experienced severe price war among telecom equipment suppliers resulted from rapid scale increase of telecom operators, shift of traditional monopoly telecommunication industry to a competitive industry driven by widespread of mobile telecommunication services, advert of suppliers with innovative technologies and changes of operators’ strategy caused by changes of product development direction of leading international telecom giants. In recent years, in particular, Guangdong Nortel adjusted its own operation mode to accommodate continuous changes of Nortel’s overall operation strategy and thus has achieved incredible year-over-year growth while eliminating risks related with the depressed domestic product market. With 2008 at hand, our general manager has finalized new development strategy and vision for the company. The decision to integrate all business lines of Guangdong Nortel involved in technical support service is another new initiative of the company with a view to enhance its competitive edge leveraging the existing manufacture, R&D and service business capabilities. With the implementation of global business transformation of Nortel Networks, service business has been endowed with new market implication. It is not only about providing post-sales technical support to the customers, but also involves provision of a complete service solution including design, deployment and customer network management. To accommodate this change of Nortel’s service business, we have made the following major adjustments with respect to structure and strategy: 2. Strive to make full use of and optimize the existing service resources of the company through structural adjustment. 3. Market is segmented to enhance cooperation and investment in advantageous fields through “Blue Sea” strategy. In severely competitive fields, we will maximize profit by cooperation mode of making full use of our advantages and avoid our limitations. 4. Take advantages of excellent competency of our employees to expand into high-end technology market. Continue to make full use of service team to provide R&D support in special new projects, thus driving development of new services. 5. Provide technical support in an innovative way. Provide users with cordial and complete service to ensure secure and stable operation of their systems, meanwhile bringing reputation and profit for the Company. 6. Enhance business partnership with Nortel Networks to exploit new business service areas. With our unique advantages like special geographical location, business background and excellent communication platform, we will perform better in both home and abroad market. 2008 will be a challenging year.
