GDNT Went Along With Terry Fox Run for Five Years

Organized by Canadian Consulate General in GZ, Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong Province People’s Government, andGuangdong Charity Federation GDCF, the Guangzhou 6th Annual Terry Fox Run was held on Nov 22, 2008 at Luhu Golf Club Driving Range.

As the energetic exponential of charity activity, except for successive donation for 5 years, GDNT has still organized over 100 staff to join Terry Fox Run in order to enhance people’s attention for cancer research, to collect the funds for cancer research, to continue Terry Fox’s dream, thereby to perform the social responsibility GDNT should take, and to enhance GDNT staff’s attention and support to charity.

It is known that the enthusiastic domestic and overseas joined 2008 Terry Fox Run has been over 6000 person, the found-raising will be used the related projects for cancer prevention and cure research. Terry Fox Run was named after an inspiring young Canadian man, and first launched by a group of followers enthused to keep the young man’s dream alive. It is now the largest single-day fund raiser for cancer research worldwide. Up to 2008, they have help in more than 4100 locations across 51 countries every year. This year marks the 28th anniversary of the Terry Fox “Marathon of Hope”.
