Guangdong Telecom Industry Exchange

To respond to the call of Guangdong Provincial Association for Science and Technology for “reinforce science & technology awareness and promote public communication of science and technology”, and strengthen the scientific and technological exchanges within the telecom industry of Guangdong province, Guangdong Province Institute of Communications (GPIC) today successfully unveiled Guangdong Telecom Industry Exchange here at Guangdong Nortel Telecommunications Equipment Co. Ltd. (Guangdong Nortel). More than 70 delegates from telecom operators, vendors, research institutes and colleges in the province attended the event which was chaired by Chen Xuedao, Dean of GPIC and Director of former Guangdong Telecommunication Administration Bureau. As the representative for the electronic and information industry of Shunde city and a corporate member of GIOC, Guangdong Nortel was honored to host the Exchange, and Dai Shuang, Chairman of Board of Directors of GDNT warmly welcomed the delegates.

At the beginning of the event, Mr. Dai briefed the delegates on the current status of Guangdong Nortel. According to him, in the face of price hikes, interest rate fluctuations and changes in policies on foreign-funded enterprises, Guangdong Nortel is now adjusting its strategic focus to achieve competitive differentiation and make every effort possible to become the best R&D center, supply centre and technical support center of Nortel. With the great efforts of all the employees, Guangdong Nortel has now made significant progress in this direction. After the briefing, delegates conducted comprehensive discussions on how to meet the market demands and strengthen innovation capabilities of enterprises.

Mr. Chen spoke highly of Guangdong Nortel’s achievements as well as its leading R&D technologies and sophisticated management system. He said, as a member of the telecom industry, Guangdong Nortel has created an outstanding brand image with high-quality products through over 10 year of localization efforts and development of leading telecom technologies. In the meanwhile, the company has produced numerous high-quality professionals, and set a good example in establishing a superior ecosystem in the communications industry.
